Time for our monthly blog of real estate stories from around PEI & Beyond that you might have missed…
Without further ado:
In what is unlikely to take off as a promotion for real estate on PEI, a REALTORⓇ in Vancouver has decided a good idea would be to give away a Tesla if you buy a home from them. To be fair we used to give away a BMW here at Parker Realty if you bought a home from us, but it was only one, and it was once a year. Though a Tesla would be nice…
On the subject of energy efficiency: This home outside Halifax is part of a “Net-Zero” trend of homes that throughout the year generate as much electricity as they use. This would be an awesome trend to see continue for sure and is likely the way of the future. Very cool.
September marks the start of back to school and university & college students have the extra job of making what is likely their first home-away-from-home livable. Realtor.ca has a nice article on this to help out. *Author’s note: My university days in Ottawa were furnished by an IKEA chair, a TV and a desk, sort of wish I had this article back then.
Builders are busy in PEI and look to be for the forseeable future: Building construction in PEI hit $91M over the summer, which is an amazing number for our small province. Contractors are planning projects a “long way down the road” now into 2020 and 2021, and the hurricane put extra pressure on the industry. But this should be good in the long run for housing on PEI!
And finally from a bit off-Island, a group of friends in China bought a mansion together so they can live in it for their retirement. A sweet story. On PEI I believe we do that with golf courses. Anyone?
See you next month!
