September 2026 PEI Real Estate Statistics

September 2026 PEI Real Estate Statistics

September brought a notable rebound in home sales and set a new historic record for total monthly dollar volume across Prince Edward Island.

Sales Activity

Home Sales: 201 units sold in September, a 6.9% increase year-over-year and the highest sales total recorded for the month of September since 2021. As you can see from the chart, we’re back into where the PEI market has historically been.

New Listings

Sellers brought 341 new residential listings to the market, up 4.9% from last year and the highest number of new listings added in any September in history.

Quite a large number of Island residents choosing the fall market to sell.

Active Listings

Active residential listings numbered 1,360 units on the market at the end of September, essentially unchanged, up just 0.1% (two listings) from the end of September 2025. Active listings haven't been this high in the month of September in a decade.

The average price of homes sold in September rose to $409,925 (+1.4% year-over-year). The year-to-date average sits at $410,668. Down slightly from last month but remaining in the same general “High 300s, Low 400s” average we’ve seen now for 4 years on PEI.

See you next month!
